World No.1 Serena Williams began her Australian Open 2015 campaign with a routine win, as her muscular strokes looked solid to gainsay her critics at the Margaret Court Arena on Tuesday.
The American powerhouse leaked away just 4 games as she rolled over Alison Van Uytvanck of Belgium 6-0 6-4 in the opening-round clash that lasted for just one hour.
Besides serving 11 aces throughout the match, Williams pulled off 86 per cent of her first-serve points and committed just 17 unforced errors en route her serene triumph.
Meanwhile, former champion Victoria Azarenka also progressed to the second round of the event following a 6-3 6-2 conquest of American journeywoman Sloane Stephens.
