Andy Murray ‘Warns’ After Rafael Nadal’s Shocking Wimbledon Egress
Joining the waves, Andy Murray was stunned when the news of Rafael Nadal’s shocking Wimbledon exit hit his ears.
Astonished, he opines that the outcome serves up as a caveat to the rest of the top players as the tournament approaches the second week at the renowned All England Club.
The 10th-seeded Nadal’s disaster-prone fortune continued on the formal grass when he suffered an out-of-the-blue 7-5 4-6 6-3 6-3 defeat at the hands of German journeyman Dustin Brown in the second round of the prestigious event on Thursday.
“When that happens, it’s always a bit of a warning to everyone else,” a cautious Murray was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“The depth of tennis just now is very high and upsets happen, and for sure they happen more than they did a few years ago,” he added.
The 28-year-old Murray, the 2013 champion here, is through to the fourth round of the Championships after pulling off a 6-2 6-2 1-6 6-1 conquest of Italian Andreas Seppi.
He is slated to lock horns with Croatian giant Ivo Karlovic for a place in the quarter-finals.
