VIDEO: Isco, Gerard Pique rescue bird during FIFA World Cup
This didn’t have anything to do with the on-field play, but this will perhaps go down as one of the best moments of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
During a Group ‘B’ game between Spain and Iran on Wednesday, a little bird – seemingly not being able to fly – precariously got on to the field in the first half.

The Spanish trio of Isco, Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba stood over the helpless animal, trying to shoo it away near the sidelines.
Unsuccessful, Isco took the matter in his hands (quite literally), grasping the bird in his second attempt before galloping and putting it down near the sidelines.
Call it good omen or what, Spain went on to win the tie, thanks a 54th-minute goal from Diego Costa that saw them clinch their first victory at the ongoing mega event.
Meanwhile, Spain will look to seal their berth in the knockouts when they take on Morocco in their final group contest on Monday.
Iran, on the other hand, have a tough task ahead when they face Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal on the same day.
