Arsenal’s league cup run came to an early end as they lost against fellow premier league side Southampton at Emirates Stadium this tuesday night, having taken the lead through Alexis Sanchez Arsenal gave away two goals before the break and crashed out of Capital One cup.

Arsenal playing at home against Southampton, both sides made a few changes in the starting lineup and Arsenal definately went into the match as favourites and it all worked out just fine at emirates for them when summer signing Sanchez scored in 14th minute to give home side a deserved lead.

Southampton turned things around, first with the help of a penalty kick which was buried by Dusan Tadic in 20th minute and that goal gave Southampton some momentum and inform player Nathaniel Clyne scored with a stunning 30 yarder leaving helpless arsenal keeper stranded to make it 2-1 for Southampton.

After the break Arsenal made many chances but failed to capitalise on any of them, while Southampton played brilliantly to keep them at bay and secured a big win and progress to fourth round of league cup.
