Rumours surfaced a couple of months back that Ana Ivanovic and Bastian Schweinsteiger are expecting their first child. And as it turns out, they were indeed true.

The couple took to their social media accounts on Thursday to confirm that they will be parents soon.

“A little extension to our family. Couldn’t be more happy!!! @BSchweinsteiger,” Ivanovic wrote alongside a picture of three training shoes – one reserved for the little one, of course.

Schweinsteiger, too, confirmed the news. “We are expecting a new family member and are so grateful! @anaivanovic,” he wrote,  accompanying a picture of himself with his wife.

Ivanovic (30) and Schweinsteiger (33) started dating each other in 2014 but got married in Venice last year. They live together in Chicago.

While Ivanovic, the 2008 French Open champion, retired from tennis at the end of last year, Schweinsteiger, who previously played for English giants Manchester United, current represents the Chicago Fire in America’s Major League Soccer.
