Yuvraj Singh Left Out of India’s 15-Man World Cup Squad
Defending champions India have opted to leave out last tournament’s superstar, Yuvraj Singh, for the 2015 World Cup that will be jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand in February-March this year.
Besides skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the squad comprises of six other batsmen, two all-rounders, two spinners, and four fast-bowling options.
India commence their bid for third World Cup title Down Under, when they square-off against traditional rivals Pakistan in the Group ‘B’ match on February 15.
Batsmen: MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu
All Rounders: Ravindra Jadeja, Stuart Binny
Spinners: Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel
Fast Bowlers: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma
NOTE: Seamers Mohit Sharma and Dhawal Kulkarni will join the World Cup squad, which is scheduled to play a triangular series against Australia and England ahead of the coveted tournament.
