Worcestershire won by 50 runs

Worcestershire is one of the oldest team in the limited over tournament Royal London One Day Cup. They have participated in the ongoing season as well. The tournament is based on England and Wales where ECB used to organise the tournament every year. Earlier in 2014, ECB or England and Wales Cricket Board used to arrange a tournament named ECB 40 and now, in 2014, it was replaced to Royal London One Day Cup and now, the overs per side were increased to 50 and came to the ODI format. The tournament is basically a first class counties where eighteen teams used to take part. Worcestershire is one of them and started to play the ongoing tournament. They have taken part from North Group and in their inaugural match, Worcestershire won by 50 runs against Derbyshire.

Derbyshire is also a popular team in the tournament and their starting in the tournament of the ongoing season was good. In their opening match, Derbyshire won the match against Warwickshire Bears. But in the 2nd match, they faced their first defeat. However, the team Derbyshire still has plenty of chances to move to the next round.

The match between Worcestershire and Derbyshire was the 5th match in North Group where earlier, the four matches were executed. Still now except Derbyshire, no teams have played two matches in the season of Royal London One Day Cup.

In 19th May, 2018 the match between them was executed and in the match Worcestershire won the toss and as usual decided to bat first.

Daryl Mitchell and Joe Clarke started the innings for Worcestershire. But their partnership did not go well long. In 20 runs opening partnership between them was gone. Daryl scored 12 runs and Joe Clarke scored 14 runs so far. Most of their players did get score in the match. Travis scored 30 runs, Thomas scored 56 runs, Brett scored 46 runs, Ben Cox scored unbeaten 56 runs, Ross scored 58 runs and Ed Barnard scored unbeaten 23 runs for the team Worcestershire. By playing complete 50 overs, toss winning team scored 323 runs in exchange for six wickets.

Top seven players of Derbyshire got score in the match when they came to chase. But that was not enough. They failed to play full overs and lost their all wickets in 273 runs. So, they were defeated against Worcestershire by 50 runs so far.
