India’s One-Day International (ODI) captain has been under the scanner of late after his side suffered their first-ever series loss to Bangladesh in the recently-concluded 3-match series away.

The critics have augmented following the 2-1 loss. Even vice-captain Virat Kohli – who himself was one of the biggest letdowns in the series – rued “decision-making problems” as he opened up in a roundabout way on the team’s performance.

A dig at skipper Dhoni?

“Bangladesh have played some really good cricket and honestly we have been sort of doubtful in our decision making and that shows on the field,” said Kohli, who could just manage to pile up 49 runs in three matches at an abysmally low average of 16.33.

Barring the third and final ODI in Mirpur, India were at their nastiest. In a nutshell, they failed to find the right combination in the first two games, paving way for a horrendous series loss against the neighboring nation.

However, no sooner did the team management realize the best XI possible, India were at their usual best. This was evident all through the final ODI on Wednesday, when the visitors put up a dominating all-round show to seek a consolation win.
