Virat Kohli could not save RCB against Mumbai

Mumbai Indians is a franchise team in Indian Premier League and since 2008 when IPL started their journey, Mumbai Indians participated in every season of the tournament. They won highest three titles of IPL and also started the new 11th season of Indian Premier League as a defending champion. Their starting in the new season was not so charming. They were defeated in the inaugural match of the tournament against Chennai Super Kings. And also excluding the last match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians or MI faced defeated in all three matches. But against RCB, they got their first victory. Virat Kohli could not save RCB against Mumbai Indians in that day though he played very well and finished their innings by remaining undefeated.

Virat Kohli could not save RCB against Mumbai

If we consider the current position of Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore, both are in same position. Both of them played four matches in the seasons of IPL but won only once each. So, RCB is in 7th and MI is in 6th position on current IPL point table. However, they have still plenty of matches in hand but getting promoted to the next playoff round, the chance is getting narrow.

The match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore was the 14th match if the ongoing season of IPL which was hosted at the home venue of Mumbai Indians named Wankhede Stadium in 17th April, 2018. Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and decided to field first.

So, Mumbai Indians got no other choice but came to bat at the beginning. With Yadav and Lewis, MI started the innings but in 0 runs two wickets were gone. Later, Lewis and captain Sharma played very destructively and with responsibility. Lewis scored 65 runs and Sharma scored highest 94 runs so far. Based on their score, team Mumbai Indians did present a big score which was 213 runs in front of RCB. MI lost total six wickets. For RCB, Yadav and Anderson took two wickets each.

Later, RCB came to chase such big score. With skipper Virat Kohli and De Kock they started their innings. De Kock was gone with 19 runs and later, Mandeep Singh scored 16 runs so far. Only Virat Kohli played well but at the end of the crease on one could give him proper company. So, by losing eight wickets RCB finished their innings scoring 167 runs so far. Kohli remained not out with 92 runs so far. Pandya took three wickets where Bumrah and McClenaghan took two wickets each for the team Mumbai.
