Rahul Tripathi, who plies his trade for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL), is known for his fine fielding skills.

Even if you’ve seen him pull off some blinders, his latest effort is sure to take you by surprise.

Playing for Maharashtra against Railways in Syed Mushtaq Ali, a domestic T20 tournament in India, Tripathi was involved in an incredible catch while fielding at long-off.

After batsman Manjeet Singh lofted one off fast bowler Vishal Gite, the 28-year-old Tripathi jumped over the ropes to catch the ball and threw it back before landing beyond the ropes.

Not only did he save a six there, but also flung the ball in the air so that his teammate Divyang Himganekar could complete a relay effort.

It was a fine way for Maharashtra to end the match who clinched the contest by 21 runs.

Earlier, Maharashtra rode on unbeaten 58-ball 95 from Nikhil Naik to amass 177-8 in 20 overs. Later, a three-fer from seamer Sammad Fallah ensured they restricted Railways to just 156 runs.

Maharashtra are now scheduled to face Karnataka in the final on Thursday.
