Ever wondered who are the highest paid and richest cricketers in the World ? well forbes came up with this list of 2012 players who according to them earned the money in and outside the cricket grounds. Most of these players are Indians and it came as no surprise as they have the most lucarative T20 domestic event with some of the biggest names playing in India every year in the Indian Premier League.

No prizes for guessing for who is no.1 on rich list when it comes to cricketers, Indian and Chennai Super kings captain Mahinder Singh Dhoni is leading the list with couple of more Indian players following him in top 10 list, lets have look at who is the highest paid player in the World.

It will come to you as surprise, most of the top 10 players are from India only 2 Australian cricketers making it to the top 10 other than Indian Players that goes to show you how much Cricket has evolved in India.

1. Mahendra Singh Dhoni- $26M

Dhoni is by far the most successfull Indian Captain and he is making the most money in the cricket world nad it can easily be compared to a good Premier League footballer. He makes around 4 Millions through matches fees with Indian team and IPL, while major portion comes from endorsments, which is around 23 Million Dollars.


2. Sachin Tendulkar – $18.6

Cricketing God they call him in India, and although his stock has came down in the last few years but still he is making a healthy sum of money with 2.1M as match fees and of course huge list of endorsments earns him around $16M.


3. Gautam Gambhir – $7.3

Next generations player for India who has been sensational in the recent past, makes around $7M but that will surely rise if he can continue his good run of form, perhaps a future Indian Captain and he do some modeling stunts as well.


5. Virender Sehwag –  $6.9
