Australian captain Steve Smith is currently playing Ashes series at their home ground and lead his team from the front. In the 3rd day of Perth Test, Smith remained not out with his brilliant 229 runs innings. He made a great partnership with Marsh of 301 runs where Marsh still not out by scoring 181 runs. So, Smith on the way to record and already touched number of milestone in his career best innings. He also has strengthened his record through the match.

Through the innings, he has touched thousand runs milestone in the year. And also he scored thousand runs in consecutive four calendar year. In the last four year his batting average is 81.85, 73.70, 71.93 and in the running year his average is 74.46 which would increase. Every year, his average is more than 70. This record is still his alone. In consecutive four years, no one could score average 50 runs in test cricket history. Australian batsman Matthew Hayden scored thousand runs consecutive four years but his average was below than 50. In first three years, his average was more than 50 but in 4th years it was reduced to 43.19 runs.

However, only Hayden has also the record of scoring thousand runs in consecutive four years in Test cricket. He scored thousand runs consecutive five years since 2001 to 2005. So, now Steve has still the option to touch the record in next year. Three players have the record of scoring thousand runs in consecutive three calendar years which are Brian Lara, Marcus Trescothick and Kevin Pietersen.

Since 2014 to 2017, in this four years Smith scored total twenty Test centuries. Besides, considering the four years this is the highest centuries record still. Before that Matthew Hayden and Ricky Ponting holds the record of scoring nineteen centuries in four years.

At the end of the3rd day of Perth Test, by playing 108 innings Smith scored five thousands 786 runs. In 108 innings, no one could score such big runs in history of Test cricket. Just Garry Sobers scored five thousands 764 runs by playing such innings earlier.

However, in 108 innings Smith made 22nd centuries in his career. Considering that he is the 3rd fastet cricket where in the top, Don Bradman is holding the record. He made 22 centuries by playing just 58 innings. Sunil Gavaskar is in 2nd position who made 22 centuries by playing 101 innings.
