Peshawar Zalmi is the current champion of Pakistan Super League their journey in the ongoing season of PSL was not so impressive. They started their journey in the season by facing defeat against the newborn team Multan Sultans. Later, they won one match against Islamabad United. Following in the 3rd match, they faced their 2nd defeat in the season. Now, in 4th match of Peshawar Zalmi, they have come back to the winning streak. Peshawar Zalmi won by 5 wickets against Quetta Gladiators.

On the other hand, Quetta Gladiators also won two matches where they played four matches in the season. They also failed to start the season with victory but faced defeat against Karachi Kings in their opening match. In 2nd and 3rd T20 matches, they won consecutively against Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United. But in the 4th match, they were defeated against Zalmi by 5 wickets.

The match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators was the 10th match of the season of Pakistan Super League or PSL. It was took place in 1st March, 2018 and Sharjah Cricket Stadium was the host venue of the match.

Earlier in 1st March, 2018 Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and let Gladiators to bat first. In the match, Aleem Dar and Tim Robinson were the field umpires. So, Quetta Gladiators came to open the innings and also they did play full 20 overs there. However, they could not make the big score but presented 141 runs target in front of Zalmi. They lost eight wickets to make the score. Shane Watson scored highest 47 runs by facing 32 balls for Gladiators. Wahab Riaz took two wickets highest for Peshawar Zalmi.

Chasing 141 runs seems easy for the defending champion of PSL. But they had to fight hard till the last. FInally in the last over, Zalmi took the victory against Gladiators. Peshawar Zalmi had to play 19.4 overs and in the meantime they lost five wickets. Tamim Iqbal who is the Bangladeshi opener made the difference between Zalmi and Gladiators. He scored highest 36 runs in 38 balls. For Gladiators, Shane Watson took 1 wicket. He was the most economy bowler of Quetta Gladiators. He bowled 4 overs and gave only 16 runs. Later, Darren Sammy from Zalmi received the player of the match award.

Sammy was the captain of Peshawar Zalmi and took two wickets as well. Besides, he led the team to victory with bat where he scored unbeaten 16 runs in just 4 balls. So, he got his reward.
