Peshawar Zalmi qualified for PSL final

Peshawar Zalmi is the current champion of Pakistan Super league and also qualified for the playoff event as one of the four team. Though they are the 3rd ranked team and so, they had to play the eliminator round to reach the 2nd qualifier. In the eliminator round, Peshawar Zalmi faced Quetta Gladiators and won the match by 1 run. So, they jumped to the next level. Now in the 2nd qualifier round where the match was against Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi won once against as a result, Peshawar Zalmi qualified for PSL final. They are going to meet Islamabad United in the final of Pakistan Super League 2018.

Excluding final, the playoff round consists of three matches. In the 1st qualifier round, Karachi Kings faced Islamabad United where by winning the match, United secured their place in final. Now, loser team Karachi Kings got a chance to play final and to do so, they had to win the 2nd qualifier round. But one of the most talkative team in PSL 3 was lost the chance and ruled out from the competition from 2nd qualifier match.

Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings both started the 3rd season of Pakistan Super League very well. Both teams played total ten matches in group level where Karachi Kings won five times and Peshawar Zalmi won same five matches so far. But Kings was defeated four times where Zalmi faced defeat five times so far. As a result, Kings finished the group stage by standing on 2nd position and Zalmi was on the 3rd position so far.

Now, Karachi Kings which is one of the founding member of PSL, missed another chance to play final and take the glory of the PSL title. But once again Peshawar Zalmi and United have got the chance to win their 2nd title where just one team will bring the glory of 2nd title of PSL so far.

Qualifier 2 round between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings was executed in 21st March, 2018 and it took place at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore in Pakistan. In the match, Karachi Kings won the toss and decided to bowl first. The game was affected by the rain and so, match was reduced to 16 overs. Peshawar Zalmi play 16 overs and scored 170 runs by losing seven wickets. Kamran Akmal played brilliantly and scored 77 runs in 27 balls. He got the record of fastest fifty in PSL. he took only 17 balls to make half century. Ravi Bopara took three wickets for Kings in the match. However, in return, Karachi Kings could not save the match. 170 runs in 16 overs was too heavy to chase and they scored 157 runs by losing inly two wickets. They went close but failed to save the match. Joe Denly remained unbeaten with 79 runs so far.
