Pakistan won the only Test against Ireland

Ireland has got the chance to play long format cricket but earlier, the did not get chance to play a international Test match. They were approved for the Test in last June, 2017 but have played their first match against pakistan. In recent time, team Pakistan has visited Ireland and in there, Pakistan won the only Test against Ireland. Their tour consisted of only one Test match.

Pakistan won the only Test against Ireland

The first Test executed in 11th May, 2018 at The Village in Malahide. In the match, local team Ireland won the toss and decided to field first. In the opening day of the match, rain affected and so, no play was possible in that day. Pakistan started to bat in their first innings of the match.

For pakistan, Faheem Ashraf and Imam-ul-Haq made their Test debut through the match and for Ireland almost ten players made their Test debut.

Azhar Ami and Imam made the 1st innings start for Pakistan. They were failed completely. In 13 runs both openers were gone. Then Haris and Asad came and made a partnership. With 31 runs Haris was gone. and Asad scored 62 runs so far. Top orders and middle orders played well in the match. In exchange for nine wickets team Pakistan scored 310 runs in 96 overs. Then they declared their first innings. Murtagh took four wickets and Thompson took three wickets for the team Ireland.

In the first innings, Ireland did not good. They got all out so early. Just four players made it to double figure runs where Stirling scored 17 runs, O’Brien scored 40 runs, Wilson scored 33 runs and Rankin scored 17 runs so far. Scoring 130 runs in 47.2 overs Ireland lost all wickets. Abbas took four wickets and Shadab Khan took three wickets for Pakistan.

So, Ireland was in following on and came to bat for the 2nd innings. They played well in their 2nd innings. One of their player KJ O’Brien made a century in the match. He scored 118 runs so far. Some players added few more runs and so, team Ireland scored 339 runs in 129.3 overs in their 2nd innings. They lost all wickets in the 2nd innings also. Later, Pakistan came to chase and in 45 overs they reached the target. They lost five wickets while chasing the score.
