West Indies cricket team is currently touring Pakistan where Pakistan Cricket Board or PCB has arranged a T20I series at their home venue. After long time International cricket has returned to Pakistan. Last in 2015, Sri Lanka played a T20I match at Lahore. The series between West Indies and Pakistan was about to stage in last November, 2017 but due to security reason, West Indies did not travel Pakistan at that time. Finally at the end of March, PCB gave the security clearance and West Indies has come to visit Pakistan. In the 1st T20I match, Pakistan won by 143 runs against West Indies.

The match was staged at Karachi National Stadium and at the same ground the last International match was executed in 2009. When Sri Lanka visited Pakistan. But the tour was cut short where a terrorist attack was held on Sri Lanka cricket team.

However, the main squad of West Indies did not come to Pakistan where number of players did not available because of security concern. Though, Cricket West Indies (CWI) has offered them as extra pay incentive to their players to visit Pakistan.

However, the T20I series consists of three matches where the opening match was executed in 1st April, 2018. National Stadium, Karachi was the host ground of the match. For Pakistan Asif Ali and Hussain Talat made their T20O debut through the match where for West Indies Keemo Paul and Veerasammy Permaul made their T20I debut. In the match regular skipper of Windies team Carlos Brathwaite did not come and so, Jason Mohammed played the role as captain of the team.

Earlier in 1st April, 2018 West Indies won the toss against Pakistan and decided to bowl first. So, the local team Pakistan came to bat and played the whole innings very destructively. Fakhar Zaman and Babar did not make a handsome start but Zaman scored 39 runs for the team. Besides, New player Hussain Talat scored 41 runs highest where skipper Sarfraz Ahmed scored 38 runs and Shoaib Malik scored 37 runs for the team. ALl of them played few balls but scored almost good runs and as a result in selected 20 overs team Pakistan presented 203 runs milestone in front of West Indies. They lost total five wickets where three bowlers took one wicket each for Windies team.

Later West Indies came to chase the score but in 60 runs they lost all wickets. It was the lowest total of West Indies in T20I competition. Marlon Samuels scored highest 18 runs for the team. Mohammad Amir took two wickets for the Green Army.
