New Zealand wins the 5th and last ODI of the 5th match ODI series between them and the Sri Lankan team to take the series at their hand. This was a hard match and both teams had their chances here but New Zealand became the voctor at the end.
The host team won the first 2 matches of the series quite easily and some was thinking that this won’t even be a tough series but Sri Lanka won the 3rs match and turned things around. That allowed them to keep their chances to win the series alive but the 4th match was abandoned due to heavy rain and that concluded one fact that either New Zealand winning the series or its going to be a draw since Sri Lanka had no chance what so ever.

In the other 3 matches, the team bowling first won and Mathews wasted no time taking the ball after wining the toss but thanks to a devastating century by guptil, New Zealand made the score of 294. It was a safe score since they only lost once when they scored 270+ runs in recent years.
However, they still had a big surprise left and that is the Sri Lankan captain. He was said to be out of form but he stood there nearly taking Sri Lanka to the edge of winning. However, he was struck out by the 5 wicket taker bowler and that tool the last hope of Sri Lanka away. Thus, New Zealand won the series by 3-1.
