Multan Sultans is the newest participant in ongoing season of Pakistan Super League or we can call that it is their debut season in the event. So, now the participants number are six totally. Their journey in PSL 2018 was very good. In the opening match, they got victory against the defending champion of PSL named Peshawar Zalmi. Now, they were scheduled to play the 3rd match of the tournament which was against Lahore Qalandars. In the match, Multan beat Lahore by 43 runs. So, by playing two matches in the season of Pakistan Super League, they managed two victories. So, it seems that they are now one step ahead than all teams and in the race of knockout phase, they will get advantage for two victories.

Lahore Qalandars is one of the five founding member in Pakistan Super League and this is their 3rd season in PSL. They yet to touch the title of it but they are still regarded as one of the hot favourite team so far.

Among total six franchise teams, only four can make it to the playoff round. Top four point holder teams will get the chance and so, winning more match will give them more chance to move there. As a newborn team Multan Sultans did their job amazingly.

The match between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars was the day match and at the same ground of Dubai was the host venue of the match between them. It was the 3rd match in the season of PSL which was taken place in 23rd February, 2018. Asif Yaqoob and Tim Robinson were the field umpires of the match.

In 23rd February before the match, both skipper attended the toss event where Lahore Qalandars won the toss and let Sultans to bat first. For Qalandars Shaheen Afridi made his T20 debut. So, came to bat Multan Sultans showed their amazing performance and based on their players performance, they presented 179 runs in front of the Qalandars. They played whole 20 overs and lost five wickets so far. Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara scored highest 63 runs and he only faced 44 balls. Most of the bowlers of Qalandars were expensive but Bangladeshi cutter master Mustafizur Rahman bowled well and was an economy bowler for them. He took two wickets in exchange for 22 runs. He bowled full four overs so far.

Later, came to chase the score the innings of Lahore Qalandars finished with 136 runs. They played total 17.2 overs where Fakhar Zaman scored highest 49 runs in 30 balls. Junaid Khan made a hat trick for Multan Sultans and became the first bowler in PSL to make a hat trick.
