KKR beat RR in eliminator round

Kolkata Knight Riders has passed the group stage of ongoing season of Indian Premier League 2018 as one of the four team. But they have grabbed the 3rd position and so, they were scheduled to play the eliminator round against the 4th ranked team. In the eliminator round, the loser of the team will be eliminated from the competition. Yesterday night the eliminator round was executed. In the match, KKR beat RR in eliminator round. The match was so contesting at the beginning. But at the end, it was almost one sided. In last over, Rajasthan Royals almost needed more than 30 runs which seems completely impossible for them. They had wickets in hand but could not utilize them earlier.

However, against Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders had almost good luck in every times. In their first meeting in group stage, KKR beat RR by seven wickets. In return game in the group round, once against RR faced defeat by 6 wickets against KKR. Not, they were defeated for the 3rd times in the season. Rajasthan Royals will get no chance more but finished their tour in IPL 11.

On the other side, Kolkata Knight Riders has not qualified for the final in the tournament yet. They have to play the qualifier two round against Sunrisers Hyderabad. They have to cross one more obstacle to reach the final.

If we consider the Rajasthan Royals, they played well in the season. After two years they returned to the competition and at the beginning of the season, it seems that they were about to rule out from the group stage. But finally they made it to the knockout round.

The match between them was executed in 23rd May, 2018 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The match was day/ night competition where Rajasthan Royals won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Kolkata Knight Riders started their innings with Narine and Lynn. Both of them failed to make impressive entrance. Lynn scored 18 runs and Narine scored 4 runs so far. Middle order players Karthick, Shubman Gill and Russell played well. Karthick scored 52 runs, Gill scored 28 runs and Russell scored 49 runs so far. By losing seven wickets team KKR scored 169 runs in 20 overs. Gowtham, Archer and Laughlin took two wickets each for the team RR.

Rajasthan Royals failed to chase the score. Top orders of the team played well but not so destructively. As a result they faced defeat. In 20 overs, they lost four wickets and scored 144 runs so far.
