Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals are the two franchise teams which have taken part in the ongoing season of Indian Premier League 2018. The group stage competition of IPL 11 has recently finished where KKR and RR qualified for playoff as two of the four teams. The rest two teams are Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings. Now, tournament has seen the four top teams which have won most of the matches in group level than rest four.

However, Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals have to wait till the last match of the group stage to get qualified for the next level. It seems that earlier the situation of Rajasthan Royals was not good. They were about to ruled out from the group stage. Their entrance in the tournament was so poor. RR has come back to the competition after two seasons. Rajasthan Royals along with Chennai Super Kings both have come back from a punishment and however, at the inaugural season after break, they played well and got the ticket of knockout phase.

On the other side, Kolkata Knight Riders or KKR is one of the most popular team which won two titles of IPL already. Out of the four qualified team, three of them have the experiences of winning Indian Premier League title. Just Rajasthan Royals yet to take the glory of the tournament.

Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad have qualified for the playoff number of matches earlier. So, they will get a chance to play the qualifier 1 round. The winner of the round will play final directly and the loser will get a chance to play final in another way. The loser team will have to play qualifier 2 round and their opponent will be the winner of the eliminator round.

As the lower ranked two teams, KKR and RR will play eliminator round where the loser will be ruled out and the winner will have to play qualifier 2 round.

Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals both teams have played fourteen group stage matches each in the ongoing season. Among them KKR won eight times where Rajasthan Royals won seven times so far. KKR almost secured their position earlier but Rajasthan Royals was under the pressure. In the 55th match of the tournament, if Mumbai Indians managed victory against Delhi Daredevils, then RR faced a competitor and also in the last match, if Kings XI Punjab won against Chennai Super Kings, both three teams could manage seven victories. But that did not happen. The luck was with Rajasthan Royals and they could manage a IPL title this time hopefully.
