Indian Team Don’t Deserve World No.2 Rankings

Brendon McCullum is a name this time around which is going to haunt India and steer them to another away test series defreat. He scored a massive 281 and still not out going into the 5th day of test match with New Zealand leading 325 where he put New Zealand in commanding position and another 50 odd runs will really put indian bating under real pressure to win or even save the test match.

Why Dhoni should be not Indian Test Captain ? McCullum is coming of age ? Indian Bowling is the worst compared to all other Test playing nations ? Can India will become a decent away test series team ? answer to all these question and some much deserved praise for Brendon McCullum.

McCullum’s this innings is quite similar to the one which VVS Laxman scored against Australia back 2001 and it will be remembered as one of the best, if not the best match saving or winning innings by a New Zealand batsman. He came into bat when New Zealand were 32/3 and heading into the innings defeat but his application and concentration combined with toothless indian attack made him get this massive innings where he need another 19 runs to complete his triple century.

But what went wrong for India ?

This is the 2nd time in last 4 test matches that Indian went from winning position to almost losing, how they do it ? well alot goes down to bowling, Indians never had a great bowling attack in the past either but those two spinners Anil Kumble and Harbajhan singh could help seamers take 30 wickets. Looking at their current bowling I dont think they are capable of getting 20 wickets in a test match and against better opposition playing away they dont have a chance.

MS Dhoni’s is clueless about his bowling lineup

The most decorated indian captian in history, Mahinder Singh Dhoni seems to have lost that killer instinct or he no longer care much after securing his legacy winning World Cup and Champions Trophy. He was never a good test captain and the series against Bangladesh later in the last is the best time to try someone like Virat Kohli before Indian Jets England in july. Remember what happend last time when India visit England ? Indians got a 4-0 rubbing in 4-match test series.

Dhoni is out of form with batting, probably low on confidence first time in his career while his captaincy is also lacking that killer instinct he once had but with Asia Cup and World T20 Coming up, probably Indian will win one of those, maybe both and all the pressure on Dhoni will be lifted. But Indians fans should know that Test cricket is totaly different ball game, Dhoni is a not good test captain and thats the bottom line, why not try Virat Kohli in against Bangladesh test series ?
