India won 1st ODI against Proteas

India is currently one of the top rated cricket super power in all format of cricket where they are currently visiting South Africa. Cricket South Africa has invited them to play a dual tournament against Proteas in the home venue of South AFrica. The tournament consists of all three formats of cricket. The competition started with Test matches where team South Africa won the series by 2 – 1 games. Now, they are scheduled to play the ODI series which started in 1st February, 2018. In the match, India won 1st ODI against Proteas out there.

India and South Africa both have very balanced squad currently and so, their competition seems very amazing. It would hard enough to describe the winner between them earlier. If the competition was hosted at India, then India would be declared as favourite. But this time South Africa is the host nation and so, they are undoubtedly favourite teams. But considering the 1st ODI, it seems that at away ground team India is similar dangerous to their opponent.

The inaugural ODI match was started in 1st February, 2018 at Kingsmead Cricket Ground, Durban. Earlier the match, Proteas won the toss and decided to bat first. So, came to bat at the beginning Proteas scored 269 runs in 50 overs. They did not lose all wickets but eight of them were gone as well. Faf du Plessis made an amazing century out there. He scored 120 runs in112 balls. Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets highest for India. Later, India came to chase the score where their skipper Virat Kohli led his team from the front. He made a century as well. He scored 112 runs in 119 balls. So, by playing 45.3 overs India made the chase successful. Andile Phehlukwayo took two wickets for CSA. Virat Kohli was announced as the player of the match later.

De Kock and Amla started the innings for Proteas. But in 30 runs opening partnership was broken by Bumrah. He took Amla is 16 runs only. Later, skipper Plessis came and joined with De Kock. They added more than 50 runs but then De Kock was gone scoring 34 runs. Since then rest three players did not do their job well. Markram scored 9 runs, Duminy scored 12 runs and Miller scored 7 runs for the team respectively. Later, Morris scored 37 runs and Phehlukwayo remained unbeaten with 27 runs so far. Based on their failure, their innings finished early though they did able to play 50 overs when they lost eight wickets so far. Excluding Yadav, Chahal also took two wickets for Men in Blue.
