India Not Afraid of Mitchell Johnson’s Pace: Murali Vijay

With strong muscles that generate bruising pace, Mitchell Johnson is one of the finest bowlers in the world at present. His left-arm fast bowling could even be intricate to counter in stereotype Australian conditions. But for India’s Test opener, Murali Vijay, it is not a serious cause of concern.

Johnson, who has the ability to clock over 150 kmph on a consistent basis, came into the bona fide limelight after spearheading his side’s bowling attack to a 5-0 annihilation of England in the Ashes. His incredible tally of 37 wickets says the rest, doesn’t it?

Moving on, many pundits of the sport have backed Johnson to carry on his purple patch during the 4-match Test series against India at home. However, Vijay seems self-assured to sizzle on the lively Australian pitches.

“It’s important in Australia that you have an aggressive opener who can turn things around,” Vijay was quoted as saying by CricBuzz ahead of the first Test match that begins from December 9 in Adelaide.

“Mitchell Johnson is, of course, one of the best bowlers in the world. It’s a good challenge for us,” he added.

When asked if the Indian batsmen panic the apprehension of Johnson’s pace, Vijay reacted with a quick “no”.
