ICC Cricket world cup 2015 predictions

The biggest competition in cricket is the 50 over world cup which takes place every four year and next installment is in Australia-NewZealand where Indians will be hoping to defend their title. T20 formate has taken a bit shine out of 50 over game but at the bouncy tracks of Australian and short boundaries in New Zealand any of the top 7-8 teams can go out and win the competition. But who is the favourites ? lets take a look at every teams chances.

Before we get into the predictions for the 2015 world cup lets take a look at the current ICC ODI Rankings, where Australia are currently sitting on top while Indian are close second. Australians will go into the competition as slight favorites as they have the advantage of home grounds, while Indian tend to struggle on the bouncy pitches in down under While England and South Africa will be playing in pretty much familiar conditions. Pakistan, West Indies and New Zealand have dangerous players in their lineups so that leave the competition wide open where any team can go all the way.

Cricket World Cup 2015 Knockout Stages Predictions:

  • QuarterFinals Draw:

If you saw football world cup 2014 and how the knockouts were drawn you will know that Cricket world cup will follow the same patch. Top 4 teams from both groups will make it to the first knockout stages which will be the quarterfinals where winner of Group A will take on 4th place team in Group B and the winner of Group B will take on 4th place of Group A in the quarter finals. Runner up of Group A will take on 3rd place team from Group B and vice versa. Blow are my predictions how the group tables will look like after the last group game.

Above are my prediction on how the groups will finish, Aussies playing at home should win atleast 6 of their games with the kind of batting lineup they have. Sri Lankans also tend to do great things in big competitions. There is less chance of a minnow upsetting the big boys because of the formate. Every team will be playing 6 games in group stages and 4 wins will virutaly gurantee the place in quarter finals. So here are my predictions on how the teams will match up in knockout stages (Quarter Finals, Semifinals and final)

Cricket World Cup 2015 Knockout Predictions

We are just a few months away from the showcase event in cricket with Australia-New Zealand hosting 2015 ICC 50-Over World Cup. Who you think is going to win the competition ? can Indian defend their title ? Australia will be too strong at home ? or we will have a new winner ? take a look at indepth analysis of all the 14 participating team here http://www.tsmplug.com/cricket/icc-world-cup-2015-predictions/ in WHO Will Win FIFA WORLD CUP 2014 on LockerDome

Glenn Maxwell player to watch out for cricket world cup 2015Australia:

Aussies have some of the most explosive batsman in limited over formate, the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Shane Watson, David Warner and George Baily. While in the bowling is something to worry about as apart from Mitchel Johnson they don’t have a world class bowler. Although in the last couple of years they have come out strong as a team as they are playing at home I am going with them to make it to the final atleast.

dale steyn player to watch out for cricket world cup 2015South Africa:

A very solid unit, only problem they tend to crumble under pressure in the big tournaments. They go into every world cup as favourites and playing some sublime cricket only to choke in the later stages of the competition. But with mixture of young blood and experience in both bowling and batting departments they will make it very difficult for any team they face in the knockout stages. I think they can easily make it to the semifinals.

Virat Kohli india vs england 2013India:

Probably the best batting lineup but a very average bowling unit, Indians will find it difficult to replicate the form which saw them winning their second world cup in 2011. This could very well be last world cup for Mahindra Singh Dhoni and he will be eager to get the best out of very talented batting side and hope he can find a couple of quality bowlers before the start of world cup.

angelo mathews player to watch out for cricket world cup 2015Sri Lanka:

They are the Germany of cricket, always there and there about. They lost against India in the final of 2011 world cup and back in 2007 they lost against Australian in the final. Between those two events they have played 3 T20 finals winning 1 and losing two. So when it comes to big ICC Competitions they are the most consistant team in the last 10 years. They have some great up and coming limited over players and this will be the last world cup for the likes of Mahela Jayawedene, Kumar Sangakara and Tilkratne Dilshan so they will be up for it. A semifinal berth is the least Sri Lankan fans should expect.

Shahid afridi biggest hitter in world cricketPakistan:

Well where to begin ? As the things stand Muhammad Amir won’t be able to play in the 2015 world cup which is a shame really. While it will be the last big ICC event for many big names in Pakistan cricket with Shahid Afridi, Misbah-ul-Haq, Muhammad Hafeez, Saeed Ajmal all in the twilight of their careers. They will have to come up with someting really special if they were to succeed in 2015 world cup. Their chances depend alot on how the knockouts draws are made. I can not seem them getting past quarter final stage.
