Royal London One Day Cup 2018 is going on. It seems that the ongoing season is the 5th episode of the tournament since when the tournament’s name and format was chance in 2014. But it is an oldest first class cricket competition. Since 2014, it has become a limited over competition where total eighteen teams used to take part. They are divided into two groups North and South. Gloucestershire and Glamorgan are the two franchise teams from South Group. In their last head to head meeting, Gloucestershire beat Glamorgan by 8 wickets.

Gloucestershire is one of the top reputed team in the tournament and in 2015, they won the title of Royal London One Day Cup. As one of the four team, they tested the title of the tournament since 2014. So, in the ongoing season they are counted no doubt.

In the tournament, it is a limited over competition  where each team will play five group stage match. At the end of the group stage, from each group, top three teams will qualify for the knockout phase. So, every match seems same important for all the participants. By winning the first match, Gloucestershire has increased their chance to move to the next level.

The match between Glomorgan and Gloucestershire took place in 18th May, 2018 at SWALEC Stadium, Cardiff. In the match, Glamorgan won the toss and decided to bat first. Nicholas and Jack started the innings for the team as the openers. In 33 runs, their partnership was broken. Nicholas scored 32 runs. Later, Shaun Marsh played well and scored 57 runs so far. Colin Ingram scored 44 runs, David scored 45 runs and Chris Cooke scored 39 runs so far. IN 49.3 overs team Glamorgan scored 264 runs and lost all wickets. Chris Liddle took four wickets and Daniel took three wickets for Gloucestershire.

Later, Gloucestershire came to chase the score. Opening partnership between George and Chris Dent, they added 147 runs partnership. Dent scored 80 runs and George scored 85 runs so far. Rest work was done by Benny and Gareth. Both of them led the team to victory easily. Benny scored 68 runs and Gareth scored 13 runs so far. In 48.2 overs they reached the target in exchange for two wickets.

Gloucestershire will play their next match against Essex and Glamorgan will play their next match against Somerset.
