England won by 38 runs at Cardiff

Australian cricket team is currently travelling England where England is the host nation and has arranged a home tournament consists of two teams. They are scheduled to play a five matches ODI series and a T20I match against guest team Australia. Earlier team England has led the series by winning the first ODI but now in the 2nd ODI, England won by 38 runs at Cardiff against Australia. Now, team England is led the tournament by 2 – 0 games. They have still three matches in hand and to secure the ODI series, team England needs to win one more game against Australia.

England won by 38 runs at Cardiff

Recently England has lost against a newborn team named Scotland where they visited Scotland and played a ODI match. Team England failed to win the match but earlier they made draw a Test series against Pakistan. The Green Army visited England where the series ended with 1 – 1 draw. Now, they are playing with Australia. The current team of Australia ius little weak it seems. They have lost regular captain Smith along with couple of players like Warner and so on. So, under the new captain named Tim Paine, they did not play good and as a result, they faced defeat in last two games against England.

Earlier, tem Australia also played two preparation matches against Sussex and Middlesex and both times, they won. The 2nd ODI between Australia and England started in 16th JUne, 2018 at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. It was a day competition where the local team England faced defeat in the toss and came to open the innings. For Australia, D’Arcy Short made his ODI debut.

Team England came to bat and with Roy and Bairstow, they started the innings. Bairstow scored 42 runs and returned to the favilion when team score was 63. Later, Hales came and joined with Roy. He scored 26 runs and later, Root came and scored 22 runs so far. Finally with Buttler who led the English team made a partnership with Jason Roy and added more than 50 runs. Roy made an amazing century out there. He scored 120 runs in 108 balls. Roy made twelve 4’s and two 6’s. On the other side, Buttler remained not out with 91 runs. He faced 70 balls and made the score. They played all 50 overs and in exchange for 8 wickets team England scored 342 runs so far.

Australia failed to chase the score and in 47.1 overs they lost all wickets. One of their player Shaun Marsh made a century. He scored 131 runs in 116 balls.
