England won by 31 runs

Team India is currently staying in England and they have a purpose obviously. ECB has organized a home tournament consists of two teams where England and India. The full tournament consists of ODI, T20I and Test series where ODI and T20I series have already finished. Team India won the T20I series but England took the revenge on them in ODI by winning the series considering same way. Now, they are in the Test schedule which consists of five match and the first one has finished in the meantime where team England won by 31 runs against the guest team India. Now, they are leading the series by 1 – 0. The four more matches in hand and to secure the series, team England has to win two more matches.

England won by 31 runs

In 1st August, 2018 the first Test between this two superpower teams stated. The host ground was Edgbaston, Birmingham. IN the match, team England won the toss and decided to bat first. They let India to bowl and at their familiar venue, English team was the favourite no doubt. Though, in the first day, they played the whole day but in 89.4 overs team England lost all wickets. They scored 287 runs totally. Ashwin took highest four wickets for India in the innings. Captain Root scored highest 80 runs where Bairstow scored 70 runs so far.

Later, team India came to bat for the first innings. They also faced the same problem and they failed to play the whole 2nd day. By playing 76 overs team India lost all wickets. Only skipper Virat Kohli stood strong and scored highest 149 runs so far. Curran took four wickets highest for England team.

England came to bat for the 2nd innings. The crease turned to bowling favour by then. They faced batting collapsed and scored 180 runs by losing all wickets. Only, Curran scored highest 63 runs where Malan scored 20 runs and Bairstow scored 28 runs so far. Once again Ashwin took three wickets but Sharma took five wickets highest for India team. Team India had an easy target in front of them but the World’s class batting line up failed to chase them. In 54.2 overs team India lost all wickets and scored 162 runs only. Kohli once again played well and scored 51 runs where Pandya scored 31 runs and Karthik scored 20 runs so far. Stokes played the vital role for England who took four wickets so far.
