Central Districts managed 2nd victory in Super Smash

Central Districts is regarded as one of the top flight in Super Smash competition since the beginning. They already played four finals that makes them one of the most potential contender in the tournament. Though, they won twice titles among them but in the ongoing season of Super Smash, they started the season with defeat. In the opening match of the tournament this season, the faced defeat against Auckland Aces. But finally, Central Districts managed 2nd victory in Super Smash 2017/18. In their last match against Northern, the beat Northern by 49 runs.

On the other hand, Northern Districts is in very good position though by their name, they yet to win any title of Super Smash but in the ongoing season, their performance makes them potential team. But, they unfortunately lost against Central Districts. The match was staged in 27th December, 2017 and it is hosted at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui.  In the match, Central Districts won the toss and decided to bat first. Considering the previous statistics, in the competition first batting team used to get the much benefit to win the match. So, Central scored 201 runs by losing just four wickets where Josh Clarkson scored 52 runs in 25 balls and remained not out. In return, Northern scored 151 runs in selected 20 overs. They lost nine wickets to do so. So, they lost by 49 runs so far.

Central Districts came to bat with Ryder and Smith. They added 60 rns to the scoreboard when Ryder was gone with 32 runs. Later, Smith was out with 29 runs so far. Captain of the team Young and Clarkson made another partnership where in the meantime, they lost Cleaver who scored just nine runs. They added almost 60 runs partnership when skipper Young was gone by seeing a fifty. Finally, Clarkson and Leopard finished the innings by scoring 201 runs in 20 overs. Bowlers of the opponent were so expensive in the day but Arnel took two wickets highest.

In return, Northern started the match very poorly. Opening partnership was broken in 17 runs. In 30 runs lost their 2nd wickets. Seifert just played a bit well who scored 37 runs. Most of the players did not touch two figure score but Flynn scored 20 runs, Mitchell scored 27 runs and Jordan scored 29 runs so far. In selected 20 overs, they scored 152 runs by losing nine wickets. Tickner took four wickets and Patel took two wickets for Central Districts.
