Australia and England are the two super power team in World cricket competition as well as the two oldest members in ICC. Recently England finished a two matches Test series against Pakistan at their home venue and now, team Australia is travelling England. As per the schedule, they will play a ODI series against England at England. The ODI series consists of five matches and later, they will play a T20I match against ENglish team as well. Ahead of the international schedule, they will also play two tour match against Sussex and Middlesex. Against Sussex, they have already play first tor match where team Australia won by 57 runs.

Tim Paine is the skipper of Australia as well as wicketkeeper and Aaron Finch is the vice captain of the team. Earlier, Steve Smith was the captain of Australia but they were punished from international cricket for few times. So, Tim Paine has got the captaincy of the team.

Under his captaincy, the match against England will be their first battle.

In 7th June, 2018 the first List A match executed at County Cricket Ground, Hove and their opponent was List A team Sussex. In the day, Sussex won the toss and decided to bowl first.

By losing some top rated players like Smith and Warner, team Australia is a little weak in batting department. But Finch and Short started the match for Australia against Sussex. Openers added 74 runs where Short was gone with 21 runs. He was being lbw by Briggs. Later, in 2dn wicket partnership between Finch and Stoinis, they added almost 100 runs where Finch scored 78 runs and Stoinix made a century there. In 112 balls he scored 110 runs. Based on their score, team Australia did present 277 runs in front of Sussex. They lost nine wickets in the match and played full 50 overs.

Archer took three wickets where Briggs and Wells took two wickets each for the team Sussex.

Later, Sussex started to chase but in 1 run, opener Wells was gone. He was being run out. But in the 2nd wicket partnership between Salt and Finch, they added almost 90 runs. Salt scored 62 runs and Finch scored 45 runs so far. Besides, Evans scored another 57 runs. They tried hard to meet the target but rest players did not do their job well. In 42.3 overs Sussex lost all wickets. They scored totally 220 runs so far. Agar took three wickets for the team Australia and destroyed the batting line up of Sussex.
