It’s no secret that Tony Bellew and David Haye are not on cordial terms. So, what happened during the Thursday’s final press conference was hardly a surprise.

Following an intense staredown – the two boxers got really close – Bellew violent pushed Haye on the throat, forcing the security to intervene.

Reacting to the incident, Haye told Sky Sports: “I don’t care about him, he’s irrelevant. It’s all about me. I got it wrong last time. This time I got it right.

“He pushed me to get a reaction. It’s a weak move, but I believe I won the battle of the mind games.”

Bellew, however, shrugged off the incident, saying: “It was just a little push and shove. He just wanted to get closer. We came close to kissing, but it’s not that kind of party, and I had to remove him from my space.”

Around a year back, something similar had happened in run-up to their fight as Haye unleashed a bareknuckle punch in reaction to a Bellew shove.

Bellew went on to stop an injured Haye in the 11th round at the O2 Arena in March last year.

Haye will look to avenge the defeat when the duo meets at the same venue come Saturday.
