The Tyson Fury fight could well turn out to be watershed moment in Otto Wallin’s career.

Just days after giving Fury a huge scare, Wallin could face off against former sparring partner and another superstar in ex-unified champion Anthony Joshua, if his promoter Dmitriy Salita is to be believed.

While nothing has been finalized yet, as it turns, Salita divulged when and where they plan to make it happen.

“Otto is a true champion, inside and outside the ring,” he told Sky Sports of the Swede, who hadn’t lost a professional fight before. “He is from Sweden and fought Fury in Vegas; so destination is no issue.

“We were discussing him stepping in to fight Joshua in June. We would be open to that possibility some time down the line in the UK.”

Reflecting on Wallin’s fight against Fury, a former lineal champion, Salita expressed displeasure at judges coming up with a unanimous decision.

“I think it could have been a draw, at most 7-5 Tyson,” he opined.

He also highlighted the fact that Fury was allowed to continue despite being cut badly above his right eye by a clean punch from Wallin in the third round.

“Fury is a great fighter who has tons of heart. He was very skilled and courageous in how he dealt with such adversity. But had it been anyone else, I feel the fight would be stopped,” Salita said.

And should a rematch happen, he believes, the result would be different.

“Otto would be much better in the rematch. He is going to get busy and now he is comfortable with Fury’s style. I strongly believe Otto wins the rematch.”
