The boxing world is set to witness a blockbuster fight this weekend with Filipino legend Manny Pacquiao squaring off against the unbeaten WBA Super welterweight champion Keith Thurman at the MGM Grand.

Pacquiao (61-7-2), despite his age, hasn’t looked too bad in his last two fights (7th round KO of Lucas Matthysse and points win over Adrien Broner). Thurman, on the other hand, ended an almost two-year-long layoff when he eked out a majority decision win over Josesito Lopez in January this year.

While Pacquiao could be considered the slight favourite, not everyone’s got the same man winning.

Deontay Wilder, the WBC heavyweight champion, opines Thurman could upset Pacquiao in what he feels would go down to the wire.

“I like both fighters and what they’ve been able to achieve,” he was quoted as saying by

“Manny Pacquiao’s a legend who still is among the world’s best fighters despite his age and having to overcome so many ups and downs.

“But I’m going with Keith Thurman on a split-decision in this one based on his youth and mentality.

“People are talking about Keith’s last fight against Josesito Lopez, but he feels like he’s the best, and that he’s not going to let anyone take that away from him.”

Who ya got winning?
