Son of one of the greatest middleweight boxers of the 1990’s, Chris Eubank Jr will get a shot at the interim middleweight belt. The WBA middleweight strap will be on the line, as the young Englishman faces Dmitry Chudinov, as announced late last night. The two will square off on the February 28th Tyson Fury card, at the O2 arena.

Chris Eubank Jr last fought against Billy Joe Saunders on the November 29th card. Saunders beat Chris Eubank Jr by decision after a hectic 12-rounds for the commonwealth title.

It would seem that Chris Eubank Jr my still be headed on the same path as his father. At just 25 years of age, the future is still very bright. Chris Eubank Jr’s record is 18-1. His opponent, Chudinov, is a 14-0-2 undefeated interim champion with two successful defenses. The Russian born fighter has 9 wins from 14 by knockout.

Promoter Frank Warren said the following on Chris Eubank Jr:

“For Chris, it was a close fight against Billy and the loss to a big rival would have been hard to take, but he now has a great opportunity to go straight back into the ring and claim a world championship belt and prove that he’s learnt from the loss and show that he’s the real thing”
