World No. 1s Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams will start as the favourites in the men’s and women’s division respectively at the prestigious Wimbledon Championships that kick-start on Monday.

While Djokovic will look to subsist his quest for a Golden Slam this season, Williams will be hoping to end her three-Slam drought that would see her tie-up with the legendary Steffi Graf with 22 Grand Slam titles.

Djokovic has had a near perfect season so far, winning both the Australian Open and French Open, and has tasted defeats in just three off his 47 competitive matches.

The Serb’s quest will be aided by a favorable draw. His first real test is expected to be against David Ferrer in the quarters before potentially meeting with Roger Federer in the semis and Andy Murray in the finals.

On the women’s side, Williams faces a stern challenge from recently-crowned French Open champion Garbine Muguruza for the sport’s coveted crown.

The American ace has been handed a tough draw as she is slated to clash with some of her old nemesis including Agnieszka Radwanska, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Kristina Mladenovic before possibly locking horns with Muguruza in the title-clash.

The main draw action is scheduled to begin from 1:00 pm local time at the renowned All England Club.
