After a month long break in motogp season Marc Marquez will be hoping to get his 10th straight grand prix win come this week end in Indianapolis, United States. So we thought to write down a piece of looking back at some of the greatest MotoGP (motorcyclists) in the history.

Michael Doohan

Australian MotoGP rider, Michael Doohan is considered as one of the greatest moden day motocyclist in the world, he won 5 back to back motoGP titles from 1994 to 1998 and helped his team Honda dominate the sport in the 90’s. Giacomo Agostini

Italian rider Guacomo Agostini is probably the greatest rider to have graced two wheel grand prix premier class racing, he is not only the leading grand prix winner (total 122) but also won 8 championship titles with MV Agusta and Honda.

Kenny Roberts:

First American ever to have won 500cc grand prix motocycle racing championship, he won three titles in 1978, 1979 and 1980 but it was his overall mark in the sport which makes him one of the best. He was the first driver to use the technique of using his knees to balance the bike on corners.

Eddie lawson:

Won 4 titles in 500cc class and left a big mark on the sport. He was more of a consistant points getting which earned him the nickname of “steady eddie” His most notable thing was winning two back to back premier class championship racing with two different teams.

Valentino Rossi

Every motoracing fan knows Valentino “the doctor” Rossi, he is the most successfull motoGp rider in recent history infect only his countryman Giacomo Agostini has won more grand prix championships in premier class. Rossi is of course face of motoGp today and still going strong. Will he ever win another championship title ? It does not look like with the emergance of Marc Marquez but that does not take away his already hugely successful career which saw him won 7 MotoGP 500cc Championships.

Marc Marques ?

Yeah its too early to early but the guy is a monster when it comes to motoGP, he became the rookie rider to have won the championship and currently on hot streak this season having won 9 straight grand prixs.
