Top seed Elina Svitoina continued smooth sailing at the WTA International Claro Open Colsanitas. The Ukrainian made short work of Montenegrin Danka Kovinic in straight sets to move into the quarterfinals.

Svitolina’s highlight of the match was her commendable conversion of first-serve points. An 83 percent success on her opening serve meant that the 20-year-old pulls off a 6-3 6-1 triumph in just 57 minutes.

“Today I’m really happy I could manage to win the first set, and that gave me a lot of confidence for the rest of the match. I’m really happy with my performance today,” a triumphant Svitolina was quoted as saying by the official WTA website.

Up next, Svitolina is scheduled to lock horns with No.8 seed Irina Falconi of America, who defeated Germany’s Dinah Pfizenmaier to go through to the last-eight stage.
