It turned out to be a disappointing day for the majority of seeds at the WTA International Claro Open Colsanitas in Bogota on Tuesday.

Former French Open champion, Francesca Schiavone, was one of the seeds to crash out of the tournament. The No. 4 seed looked oblivious against 130th-ranked Brazilian Teliana Pereira, as the latter pulled off a 6-1 6-4 triumph.

3rd seed Ajla Tomljanovic also bowed out of the tournament after suffering a 6-4 6-1 defeat from the hands of Russia’s Alexandra Panova in the opening round battle that lasted for an hour and 6 minutes.
