Madison Keys is all set to break into the top 10 of the WTA rankings after she won her second career title following a 6-3 6-4 conquest of Barbara Strycova in the final of the Aegon Classic in Birmingham.

The seventh-seeded American consolidated her serve throughout the match as she improved to 3-1 against her unseeded opponent from Czech Republic after battling out for one hour and 20 minutes.

Keys opened up a 3-0 lead in the first set, and kept it intact to take an early lead. She, then, rallied from 3-4 down on serve to snatch three consecutive games to take the trophy home, along with 470 ranking points and $146,200 as prize money.

The 21-year-old’s power-packed dominance reflects from the fact that she hit as many as 27 winners against 7 of Strycova, as she recorded her second career triumph, having precisely emerged victorious at Eastbourne back in 2014.

Keys will now join top-ranked countrywoman Serena Williams in the top 10 when the WTA released the latest rankings on Monday.
