Top-ranked male tennis player Novak Djokovic has admitted to have had a dip in his form after he failed to win the Cincinnati Masters last week. The Serb was handed over a straight-set defeat by Switzerland’s Roger Federer, thereby clamping a ceiling on his hopes of clinching the elusive title.

The 28-year-old Djokovic showed signs of an unusual rustiness throughout the tournament, where he rallied from the brink of defeat on two occasions en route the finals, before being denied by Federer in what could have been history (first player to win all 9 Masters titles) had the Serb emerged victourois.

However, Djokovic feels that he could regroup with a week in advance of the prestigious US Open 2015 that commences from August 31.

“Played a couple good matches and couple not-so-good matches,” Djokovic was quoted as saying by Clubcall. “Still not very happy with my form and with my game, but I have a week to work on it. Conditions in New York suit me a little bit better, so I look forward to it.”

Having pulled off the coveted crown here back in 2011, Djokovic will look to add on to his 9-Slam tally this time around.
