Top-ranked Novak Djokovic is slated to kick-off the 2015 season at the ATP Qatar ExxonMobil in Doha, where he will not only feature in the singles draw, but will also be a part of the doubles line-up.

Having won just a solitary doubles title (Queens, 2010) in his career so far, Djokovic will look to pull off his second triumph in Doha, where he partners fellow Serb Filip Krajinovic in the doubles draw.

“The Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) have no hesitation giving Novak Djokovic a wildcard entry into the doubles draw,” said tournament director, Karim Alami, as quoted by The Peninsula.

Further talking about Djokovic’s competency, Alami added: “He is a class player and obviously will draw the crowds wherever he goes. He may even play his doubles match on an outside court in the first couple of days of the tournament, which will be a thrill for the crowds to get up that close to see him play.

“Watching top singles players take to the court in doubles is always a great spectacle.”

Meanwhile, Djokovic will headline the singles draw that comprises of some big names including Rafael Nadal, Tomas Berdych and David Ferrer.

The tournament is scheduled to be held from January 5-10 next week.
