Serena Williams not be seeded for the French Open hasn’t gone down well with many. Add Ivanka Trump to the list!

Ivanka, the daughter of USA President Donald Trump, took to her official Twitter handle to voice her support in favour of the 23-time Grand Slam champion.

“This is ridiculous. @SerenaWilliams is a formidable athlete (best ever!) and loving new mother. No person should ever be penalized professionally for having a child! The #WTA should change this rule immediately,” wrote Ivanka, who is followed by 5.65 million people.

Ivanka’s tweet comes just a couple of days after Serena, a former world No. 1, was snubbed a seeding as her ranking has fallen to No. 453 after missing almost 14 months of action after giving birth to her child.

Serena, who is married to Alexis Ohanian, returned to action in March this year but is yet to make a full-fledged return to the circuit.

Going unseeded meant she could bump into a top player early into the second Major of the year. But, the 36-year-old would be happy to have drawn 70th-ranked Kristyna Pliskova of Czech Republic first up.
