There’s a lot happening over and above the on-court tennis this week. Just days after Nick Kyrgios fired lewd comments on Stanislas Wawrinka’s girlfriend that made him face severe flak, there’s another controversy that has rocked the tennis world.

It happened so during the first-round qualifying encounter between Australia’s Thanasi Kokkinakis and America’s Ryan Harrison that the match took an ugly turn.

Apparently, Kokkinakis was unhappy with certain line calls, before the Harrison – apparently displacing his resentment on the Kyrgios incident – started to sledge him.

This is what happened at the end of second set…

And the ‘nasty’ handshake that followed…

Kokkinakis, however, had the last laugh as he managed to pull off a thrilling 7-5 3-6 7-6 win over Harrison to progress to the second round of qualifying at the Western and Southern Open 2015 in Cincinnati.
