Latvian tennis player Ernests Gulbis perhaps finds more pleasure in dismantling the rackets rather than using them to topple his on-court adversaries. He flashed another example of racket-smashing during his second round match at the prestigious Roland Garros 2015.

Gulbis’ frustration was evident on court after he squandered an early lead to eventually lose out to Frenchman Nicolas Mahut, 6-3 3-6 7-5 6-3. Consequently, he stunned the spectators around with a callous mash of his racket.

The 26-year-old – under sheer annoyance – held his racquet on to the ground, and smashed it hard with his leg on the joint, to flog it up eventually.  A young boy sitting in the stands was seemingly the only joyful spectator for getting the demolished racket from Gulbis.

The action, certainly, doesn’t embellish the spirit of the game!
