Juan Martin del Potro took to Twitter to share a video of himself walking out of hospital after undergoing a knee surgery.

The 2009 US Open champion played at last week’s Fever-Tree Championships, defeating Canadian Denis Shapovalov in the first round. In the process, however, he sustained a fracture to his right knee, forcing him to concede a walkover to eventual champion Feliciano Lopez in the second round.

The 30-year-old eventually went under the knife in Barcelona over the weekend as he was seen walking on crutches with his right leg heavily strapped.

Even as the surgery may have been successful, it has all but ruled del Potro out for the rest of the season. Furthermore, many fear that Del Potro may have already played the last match of his injury-marred career.

Even he himself isn’t sure. “If that match was the last of one my career, I don’t know,” del Potro had said.

“I don’t know what will happen next. Hopefully, I will have a good recovery. I hope my knee can heal properly.”

Here’s wishing the former world No. 3 a very speedy recovery!
