It’s no secret that Fernando Verdasco doesn’t share a great bond with ball kids. The story remained the same during his latest on-court appearance, just that he was at the receiving end this time around.

Playing against Britain’s Daniel Evans in the first round of the French Open on Tuesday, Verdasco was having a sip of water during a changeover. Once done, he tried passing the bottle to a ball boy holding shade for him.

The little one wasn’t pleased with Verdasco expecting him to do more than one thing at a time as he gestured him to himself go and throw it in the bin that was placed not too far away.

Fans were quick to applaud the ball boy for giving the Spanish player a ‘lesson of humility’.

“Give this boy a medal,” one user claimed. “Love it. Verdasco learns a lesson in humility,” another one added.

“As your Granny would say: “Put it in the bin yourself, you got arms n legs too,” a third comment read.

For those unaware, Verdasco has had multiple run-ins with ball kids over the years, including yelling at one during the Shenzhen Open last year.

Verdasco went on to clinch a 6-3 6-7 6-3 6-2 win over Evans and set up a second round date with local lad Antoine Hoang.
