Destanee Aiava made the headlines recently after stating that she plays tennis just for the sake of money. And, the rising Australian star is in the news for all the wrong reasons again.

Aiava, 17, levitated her racquet (see below) at the Apis Canberra International, a $60,000 International Tennis Federation (ITF) event in Canberra, Australia. It happened the moment after she lost 1-6 2-6 to countrywoman Olivia Rogowska in the final over the weekend.

Last week, Aiava, who broke into limelight after stunning American veteran Bethanie Mattek-Sands in the first round of Brisbane International last year, said that she will hang up her racquet once she earns enough money out of it.

“Money is the motivation, obviously everyone wants a better lifestyle for their future and money definitely helps that a lot,” she had said.

“I can’t lie anymore, I’m done with that, honesty is the best policy. It’s the light at the end of the tunnel and I just want it, as soon as I have enough money I’ll stop playing.”

Meanwhile, Aiava is scheduled to feature in yet another ITF 60,000 event – in Bendigo, Victoria, this week. She will square off against Julia Glushko of Israel in the first round on Wednesday.
