Adam Pavlasek’s disappointing 2018 season continued as he crashed out in the first round of the ATP Barletta Challenger in Italy on Tuesday.

The Czech tennis player, who was once ranked 71st in the world, conceded a one-set deficit to go down 3-6 7-6 7-6 to world No. 341 Andrea Pellegrino.

And the frustration of losing his eighth match this year (he’s played 16 in all) was evident on Pavlasek’s face as he vent his anger on the racket.

Just after his drop shot crashed on to the net at match point, the 23-year-old used all his power to slam the racket hard on to the clay surface.

No wonder, the poor racket was left distorted.

As for Pellegrino, he is scheduled to square off against local hope Gian Marco Moroni, who clinched a 6-1 6-4 conquest of Portugal’s Pedro Sousa.
