It’s safe to say that Germany’s Sabine Lisicki is a powerhouse. She not only holds the record for smashing the fastest serve (131 mph) in the history of women’s tennis, but also added another feat to her forte by breaking the record for serving most aces in a match on the tour.

During her second-round triumph over Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic at the Aegon Championships 2015, the 25-year-old Lisicki fired as many as 27 aces – 16 in the first set and 11 in the second – en route a 6-1 7-6 conquest of her adversary in an hour and 27 minutes.

With this, Lisicki surpassed the erstwhile record of 24 aces jointly clunged by American Serena Williams and Kaia Kanepi of Estonia.

“It’s nice to have another record,” Lisicki commented on her accomplishment in the post-match interview. “It’s obviously a good weapon to have on grass. And I love playing on grass,” added the grass-court specialist, who continues to gear up for the upcoming Wimbledon Championships.
