The first-round match between No. 1 seed Garbine Muguruza of Spain and Germany’s Sabine Lisicki was interrupted for a bit for strangest of the reasons: a bug intruded the court.

Not that it created havoc sitting on Lisicki’s side of the court, but she appeared quite scared of it. The German tried to push it away using her racket, only to fail to do so on a couple of occasions.

A ballkid, who had been watching that happen from behind, ran up with a solution. He quickly crushed the poor ‘intruder’ using his feet.

Problem solved? It may have. But, Lisicki was horrified as she turned away in dismay, keeping her hands on the head.

Too harsh, maybe?

Lisicki couldn’t quite come out of it (take it with a pinch of salt) as she went down 3-6 4-6 to Muguruza.

“Tough match tonight! I’m disappointed in the outcome but it was a good match,” Lisicki later wrote on Twitter. “Made a few bad choices on important points that make a difference in such a match. Working on that! One of the best matches since my comeback. Onwards and upwards we go!”
