Benoit Paire ditched his bad-boy image for a stunning gesture of sportsmanship during his clash against fellow Frenchman Richard Gasquet, in the second round of the ATP Moselle Open in Metz.

After one of Gasquet’s service was called wide, Paire wore a perplexed look as he went ahead to check the ball mark. Upon noticing it wasn’t really out, he challenged for his opponent.

And guess what? Hawk-eye confirmed the ball was well in, ruling it an ace.

Paire’s gesture was highly appreciable, given the fact that he would have lost his last challenge had he not taken it upstairs.

No wonder, the duo exchanged a fist bump while the crowd applauded the gesture.

Paire, the No. 3 seed, went on to rally from a set down to prevail 3-6 6-3 6-4 over his good friend and set up a quarter-final date with wildcard entrant Gregoire Barrere.
